2. Summary

This article talks about the meeting on April 10th in beijing China between the Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and the Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd. The two diplomats had their meeting to seek more connection with each other's countries. According to Premier Wen Jiabao, there has been a dramatic increase in relations/connections between China and Australia; such as trade and economic cooperation which has led to china being Australia's biggest trade partner. Wen also said that he wants this cooperation to be a long-term and gradual process. With this he hopes to gain mutual respect, equality and benefit. In addition to trading achievements Wen feels that the two countries should also improve their exchanges in education, culture, science, and technology. Both men are willing to try and expand their ties and become more connected with each other.

3. Reflection

A) This article fits the theme of "Impact of interaction among and within major societies", because it is about two different countries becoming more intact and involved with each other.
B) Interaction between China and Australia is becoming larger today however for the most part the two socities have been interacting with each other for a very long time.
C) Point of View: Male chinese reporter that is most likely and outsider getting basic information.
D) The author of this article does not appear to show much bias however he just seems to be talking about more of the positive outcomes of the topic discussed.
E) Someone that would be good to hear from would be an Australian author to maybe see what he/she thinks about the idea of encouraging more connections between china and Australia.
F) I think it is a good idea that kevin Judd and Wen Jiabao want to extend their interactions with each other because it will help both their economies and governments. It also gives them an allie in case they need it in times of war and/or other crisis.
