Russia expels U.S military attachés

II. Summary

The Russian government just recently expelled two attachés from the country of Russia. Attachés are Diplomats who maintain social, economical and political relations with another country; in this case it is with the U.S and Russia. Also about three weeks ago a Russian Diplomat was expelled from the U.S along with another in November 2007. The reason for the expel are unknown at this time, but there are theories due to espionage or spying.

III. Reaction

a) This article relates to the AP world theme, Impact of interaction among and within major societies. This is because the Russians are exiling the Americans out of their country.

b) It wasn’t until just recently that the U.S.S.R and American were in a nuclear arms race in the cold war that could have blown up the earth several hundred times.

c) The Author of this article is not mentioned but most likely a white American.

d) There is no obvious bias present in the article, however because of the absence of a Russian at all this could be a effect of the point of view of the author.

e) The point of view missing from this article is of the expelled Diplomats. This would help determine the reason for the ban and also get a better understanding of it.

f) My reaction to this article is that in order to be exiled from a country or at least be banned from it the banned most have done something seriously wrong.
