The United States shot missiles amongst all the fighting in Somalia. The missiles struck the house of who the US Military know is the top al-qaida commander of Somalia. Aden Hashi Ayro was killed as were 10 others, by the same missiles that hit his house. It’s said that he dumped hundreds of corpses into the sea. Also that he train many fighters in a mosque that he built. Since he was killed in his home it’s been said that “he was not actively engaged in the struggle”.

A) This article relates to the AP World theme: State-building, expansion, and conflict. The article relates to this because this article has to do with the US bombing Somalia. This is because of the al-qaida that are in Somalia. They targeted Somalia because of Aden Hashi Ayro.
B) The al-qaida is an “international terrorist network” that is led by Usama bin Laden. Usama established this “network” in 1988. The al-qaida had helped recruit, finance, and transport/train many fighters from all different countries to be part of the Afghan resistance to defeat the Soviet Union a.k.a. Russia.
C) The author is male and though his nationality is not stated, he could be Muslim since his name is Mohamed Olad Hassan.
D) It seems that he agrees with what happened to Aden. All he talks about are the man’s horrible accomplishments. If he were to feel sorry for Aden he would have stated positive facts about him.
E) A point of view that is missing from this article is from someone who lives in Somalia. I can only imagine how horrible the sight must be over there. They would also have somewhat of a firsthand account, than you could know what really happened.
F) Now I know that the al-qaida is bad but was two missiles really necessary? Yes he was the top commander in Somalia but two?! One would have done him in just fine; I guess it was just a precaution. It also killed 10 other al-qaida members so I guess that’s good.
