II. The International Olympic committee (IOC) president is hoping that the path of the torch is safe. In ’06 Jacques Rogge, The president Of the IOC said the Chinese game organizers did an outstanding job with the preparation. Now however the same president now is expressing extreme concern after all the violence has taken place at all the protests through London, Paris and San Francisco. He believes the Chinese government can take care of these problems although. Also a government official states that the government will use all of their resources to make this a memorable Olympics.

III. A. I believe this article relates to the AP History Theme of Changes in functions and structures of states and in attitudes toward states and politicalidentities, including the emergence of the nation-state. This is because Tibet wanting independence from Chinese rule has brought out thousands of people around the world who agree with Tibet. This has created great tension and created violent protests to the Olympic torch in the cities it goes through.

B. the Olympics is being held in Beijing, China. Tibet has demanded independence from china. China denied them this, many people around the world have sided with Tibet on this issue. So since the games are being held in china, many protestors are protesting the Olympic torch on its way to Beijing. It has become violent.

c. This article was probably written by a Chinese man who is not part of the government, He agrees with the Chinese government in the issue and hopes the torch will make it back to Beijing safe.
d. This article should be approached with caution because it is written by a Chinese man who will side with his government. The author of this article gives no facts to support the protestors or the Tibetan point of view. This article is completely biased and does not report the entire story only half of it. That is poor reporting.
e. A major point of view in this article that would be greatly appreciated would be that of a Torch protestor and ask why they are doing this. This would be useful too see if there is a good reason to hold violent protests while the Olympic torch has been a sign of peace friendship and competition since the introduction in ancient Greece.
f. I believe that for people to threaten the safety of ceremonial torch is ridiculous and completely unnecessary. If Tibet wants Independence that bad they should tell Protestors to stop and let them handle it. Tibet should talk peacefully with the Chinese government. This should be handled internally not externally.
