II. Summary:

Dalai Lama is Tibetan spiritual leader for some time now. On Tuesday of last week it was said again that without the resign of violence in Tibet he would resign his authority. The attacks against the Chinese are not only a disapproval of his but an offense. Dalai Lama doesn’t know if he is ready to resign yet because he is focused on the fact that you never know what can happen. Dalai Lama has always been a respectful man to the Chinese people and Chinese communism and only wants to solve the violence occurring.

III. Reactions:

This article relates to the relationship of change and continuity from 8,000 BCE to the present because of how the Tibetan Chinese have changed and evolved. The religion of Tibetan people may have stayed the same but the amount of people joining in this religion and the amount of violence has not. Even since 1994 the Tibetans have ranged from 2.7 to 5.4 million. Apart from that, when other religions began spreading to China Tibetan used their military as force to protect their people. After the invasion of the peoples liberation army in 1950 there was up to 1,200,000 deaths.

A) Historically Dalai Lama and his family has gone far back to a generation of Buddhism men trying to do what is best for their people and religion. The Government of Tibet in Exile claims that the number of Tibetans has fallen and the situation rises and declines with time. Tibetan Buddhist believe in keeping the peace ever since the religion started and that isn’t about to stop.

B) The point of view of the article is most likely a male Chinese journalist. He is from an outsider’s point of view quoting, questioning, and expressing different situations in the topic this article is referring too.

C) The author’s point of view barely affects the article. We should be careful though because it seems as the author quotes about Dalai Lama the more it makes people want him to stay. This article gives you a feeling that you want to do something in order to stop the fighting in violence occurring in China. It should be noted that besides giving the facts, the facts change your mind while reading.

D) A point of view missing from the article would be one from an insider’s point of view apart from Dalai Lama. I would like to hear either someone in his office or a Tibetan Buddhist who is in the family of Dalai Lama. I feel from hearing these points of views I would be able to understand how Dalai is feeling more and how he really thinks these violence attacks are going to continue.

E) I felt this article was very informational, expressive, and knowledgeable. I have a good understanding of the topic and have my opinions. I feel that the situation Dalai Lama is going through is difficult. As the religious, peace-full, optimistic man he looks out to be he only wants the best for everyone. It seems the only reason he wants to resign is because at this point people look out to be more ignorant and disrespectful to the culture of Tibetan Buddhism then how it was back when it started.
