Summary:
This article is about is about how the president of the Republic of Korea (ROK), President Lee Myung-bak, will make a visit to one of its close neighbors, China. This trip will last 4 days where he will perform interviews and hopefully develop Korea's friendly relations with China. He hopes that this will bring the people of East Asia together.

Reactions:
  1. How does this relate to one of the AP World History themes? This article relates to the theme Impact of interaction among and within major societies. This is because the Republic of Korea is interacting with the government and the people of China. He is trying to keep Chinese-Korean relations good.
  2. Evaluate the Historical background of this issue. Just around 16 years ago both these countries engaged in 'Sino-ROK diplomatic ties'. These two have been trading for many years now and have exported/imported over 140 billion US dollars worth of goods.
  3. Identify the point of view in this article. The author of this article is an insider to the topic since it is going on in China and it is a Chinese newspaper. The writer is probably of Chinese ethnicity. The author is People's Daily Online.
  4. This article must be approached with some caution since it was written by someone who may be easily corrupted by the government. Their ideas and viewpoints may not be completely their own.
  5. What point of view is missing from this article? I would like to hear from a representative of the Korean standpoint. This could help us figure out if there is any other reason that the Koreans are trying to keep relations with China.
  6. I think that it is very good that relations between these two societies are being keep in good form. The more countries that get along the smoother I think that the world could run.
