II.) Summary
A U.S. diplomat visited Pyongyang to verify North Korea’s plutonium holdings, and North Korea handed over thousands of pages of nuclear weapons documents. The officials said the documents were another step toward the goal of getting a full declaration of North Korea’s nuclear activities, which has been delayed since the end of last year.

III.) Reactions
a.) this article relates to the AP world history theme of “Impact of interaction among and within major societies” because this article deals with the interaction of America and North Korea and how they deal with the problem of nuclear weapons in North Korea
b.) America and Korea have never really been on good terms. President George W. Bush had even named North Korea as part of an “Axis of Evil” after the September 11, 2001 attack.
c.) Judging by the name, the reporter is an American female, and an outsider to the situation.
d.) Bias is shown in this article because words like “failure” are used to explain certain actions taken by North Korea, and also the tone of this article shows bias. The article has a bit of an angry tone towards Korea.
e.) To get full understanding of the situation, it would help to hear from the point of view of a Korean, because maybe they have certain reasons for doing with they are doing, or maybe they are being falsely judged.
f.) My reaction on the article was shocked because N. Korea handed over 18,000 pages of nuclear weapons documents, and it’s scary to think that there are countries harboring weapons like that.

I agree with both of you on how nerve racking it is to think that not only do other countries harbor these weapons of mass desctruction, but that they most likely would use them in case of emergency. How do you think that will affect us as well as other countries if something life that were to ake place? Do you think it could lead to another world war?
