I. Iraq Suicide Bombing Hits Market, www.bbc.com, May 1, 2008, http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7378406.stm
II. In the Iraqi province of Diyala 35 people were killed and 65 injured by a suicide bomber attack. There were two bombers, who were twins. The attacks happened in Balad Ruz, as a group of wedding guests were passing through. As a women set off her bomb belt a man blew himself up while around innocent bystanders. This attack is part of a report by Iraqi officials saying that 968 civilians have been killed in April alone. The Sunni extremist groups are trying to regroup in Diyala after being pushed away from Anbar and the capital. Ibrahim Hassan was injured in the attacks describes them like this; "The first blast happened in front of an ice cream shop," he told AFP news agency.” A lot of people ran to help the wounded, but two minutes later another bomber blew himself up in the crowd." The Iraqi government and US military are continually trying to fight off such attacks. Nine people also died on Thursday from a bomb blast that was aimed at US troops in Baghdad, but missed its target.
III.
A. This article relates to the AP World History theme impact and interaction among and within major societies. This article relates to this theme because US military is in Iraq and people are not happy with it. Also the people are having fights within their culture about religion and culture parts of life (Sunni and Shi’ites). The suicide bombing is an extreme way to try and make your way of life have an impact on society.
B. The battle between the Sunni and Shi’ite Muslims has been going on for a very long time. It dates back to when the Islamic people had to choose a successor for Muhammad and could not decide on one. The battle between the two religions has escalated in extremities throughout the years.
C. This article is written by an outsider, named Clive Myrie, who is reporting on site. Although she is a British person she is on site and probably has done a lot of research concerning the topic.
D. The point of view of this author does not seem to have any effect on the way that this article is being reported. Although she does not give any indication of why the bombing was done, which makes it seem like there was no reason for the bombing. There probably was a reason no matter how small. This is still a terrible action, from my point of view.
E. The point of view of one of the bombers is missing…obviously since he was suicidal, but it would be nice to know why he did it. I would like to also her from the person who sent out these suicide bombers to know why and how they can be so cruel to other human beings.
F. I believe that this is a serious issue that needs dealing with. US military has to take bigger steps to preventing other events like this happening, like bomb detection sites or other ways of preventing suicide bombing. The war between the Sunni and Shi’ites has been going on for way too long and needs to stop.

Wow over 100 people injured in one suicide bomb?? That is pretty bad, if we're not over there to protect these people from things like this then what are we there for?
