II. Summary
Everyday, women are getting sexually abused in Darfur, Sudan. Soldiers are accused of this abuse toward the African American women. The Sudanese government is determined to end this crisis, but it’s still continuing. Nobody is trying hard enough to stop this misery once and for all. This has been happening for a while.

III. Reactions
1) This article relates to the AP World History theme: Systems of social structure and gender structure. This is because it shows how the male race is dominant to the female race. Women are seen as inferior, which is absolutely not right.

2) Abuse can happen anywhere in the world. Unfortunately, this is occurring as a daily life routine which needs to be stopped. People need to put more effort in order for it to end. It has been going on for many years.

3) The article is being told by a male reporter from BBC news. He is the outsider of the story. The insiders of the story are the female residents of Sudan.

4) They are blaming how Sudanese security services don’t help enough to end the crisis. If the New York-based group thought they weren’t doing enough, they should instead help out the situation than criticizing the help they‘re giving.

5) The point of view of the attackers (Janjaweed) are missing. They describe how they are attacking, but no information came from them when reported. I would like to hear from both the abusers and the women of Darfur in order to understand more on the issue.

6) When I read this article, I was heartbroken. The violence and cruelty should come to an end. They should try harder to end this problem because it can get even worse than it already is. Women shouldn’t be constantly under attack when performing daily tasks. This isn’t right for anybody.

I think that this is a horrible thing to do. Women shouldn't have to walk around worrying what's going to happen next. There innocent people, but being sexually abused for no reason. They should try harder to stop these poor women from being harrassed.

I agree with both Magda and Danielle, Darfur is a horrible place for everyone in society. Many tribes and societies are totally against each other, using anyway to get their revenge. Women as Magda said should not have to live with fear in their life, worrying about what will happen to them (nor should anyone in this society.) Other countries must get involved in this situation to help stop the problem. If we stand back and just watch what happens, Sudan will not be a better place. We must go into this situation and straighten out things or we might have two wars to deal with.

I don't understand how this can still be happening. This is horrible! I feel really bad for these Sudanese women who have to take this kind of abuse everyday. Hopefully this crisis is solved soon and no more innocent women are hurt.
