Summary- Recently, the Al-Qaida second command leader, Ayman al-Zawahri held a press conference with some startling news. He said that he planning on attacking Jews in Israel and around the world. He says that Allah has given them a jihad, or struggle and it is to rid the world of Jews. Zawahri also says that the killing of the innocent people, mainly Muslims was necessary to the success of the Jihad. People are afraid that once the Americans pull out of Iraq, the Al- Qaida will be free to move to Israel, where they happily plan on attacking. The first part of the Jihad will take place in Israel, where Zawahri gave his followers permission to kill Egyptian officers.

A) This Article relates to the AP world history theme, cultural, religious and intellectual developments. In this case, Al- Qaida has had a divine hatred towards Jews, and their Muslim god, Allah, has told them they must all be killed. Because Islam is the world’s biggest religion, this can possibly mean that more hatred towards the already penalized religion can increase.

B) Al-Qaida, or Al-Gaeda is a sect of Islamic extremists with fanatical goals. They wish to end all foreign relations with in superior non-Muslims, and install a new caliphate to the Islamic land. Because they believe that all non-Muslims are the enemy, they especially hate two groups in particular, the U.S. and Jews. They hate the U.S. and Jews because they have had such a lasting impact on Arabic countries such as Afghanistan, and changed and modernized their world. Israel has become the enemy because of such close contact. Al-gaeda is one of the largest terrorist groups in the Islamic world and were responsible for September 11^th, 2001. The ringleader of these fanatics is Osama Bin Laden.

C) The author of this article appears to be Jewish, since he is writing for the Jerusalem post, and most likely an Israeli.

D) In this article, the author’s interpretation of the events should be cautioned because the author is an Israeli. . Because they are the biggest threat, the author could be writing with hyperboles to hint to his people that it is time to retaliate. He could also have taken to offense the fact that his religion was being disgraced, and slammed the Muslims for being destructive and evil. He says that Al-Qaida has “notoriously brutal tactics” and has said that Al-Qaida has taken credit for the “destruction” of half the world.

E) I would like to hear from two people in this article. First, I would like to hear from Jewsih leaders from Israel and worldwide on their defense to this topic. I, as a Jew am scared that Al-Qaida can boldly say to worldwide audience that he will aim to kill us. I want to know if these threats are empty or possibly true. If so, I would like to know how they are planning to defend ourselves. Second, I would like to hear from a Muslim that is not part of the Al-Qaida association. Zawahri had repeatedly said that this is for “all Muslims” and if it is so, I would like to know if all Muslims hate and plan to target and ill Jews.

F) In my opinion, I am more scared now than ever. Although Al-Qaida is a small organization, they seem to be well planned by this article. They know as of now that they are entering Egypt first and son on and so on. I really am appalled that this man can talk about one race with such venom and not feel any shame. I hope that readers are not just thinking that this article is all talk. If we ignore these signs now, an entire race can be eliminated. IT is not just talk, for look what happened on 9/11.
