73 Year Old Man Keeps Daughter in Basement for 24 Years and Burns Baby in Oven!

Summary- A Austrian man admits that he had kept his daughter Elisabeth locked in the basement for 24 years, and constantly raped her. 7 kids later she was found and is relaying her story. The father had "an electronic keyless-entry system" to prevent the daughter from escaping and reinforced concrete walls as well. She had twins and when one died out of malnurishment, the father disposed one it by putting the baby in the oven! The daughter says her father began sexually abusing her when she 11 and at one point he sedated her, handcuffed her and brought her to her cell. 3 of the children lived with Elisabeth in the basement while 3 others lived with her grandparents. This horror was unfathomable for the Austrians.



The article relates to the theme of "The relationship of change and continuity from 8,000 BCE to the present." It could relate because back then this would've been an outrage, but now when people know what is going on and nobodies as ignorant as before, it makes this so much more disturbing.



The issue began at 11 when she began to be abused and then it eventually progressed to an 18 year old locked in a basement, living with 3 kids fathered by her father.



The article is written by VERONIKA OLEKSYN which could be an Austrian name. She's female and probably can relate to Elisabeth.



She seems totally apalled at this disgrace and this is evident in her use of the phrases "cramped basement cell" "narrow pathway leading to a small bathroom" "disbelief" and many other phrases.



I would like to hear the point of view from a child living with Elisabeth during this horrifying experience. They would be able to show the point of view of an innocent person who lived through it.


I think this article is horrifying. It also shows us how the human race hasn't really changed extensively. It seems completely out of the ordinary that this is happening but it obviously isn't continuing these horrors have been going on for years. What doesn't make sense is how people are still suprised when these things happen. There are so many people doing the wrong thing these days that the horror stories are going to continue for years to come.
