II. Summary
On March 6 a Thursday night someone opened fire on J’lem yeshiva killing eight and wounding eleven students. The shooter was expected to be from east Jerusalem. Police have been searching for partners and his way of transportation to get to yeshiva. They think they have found the car that he might of used. There was 500-600 bullets fired and it lasted anywhere from 3-5 minutes. When police arrived the gunman fired round after round but eventually was shot and killed by and IDF officer. As officers went inside the building they found dead bodies lying next to sacred Jewish books. In yeshiva many people came out from their homes and were chanting “Death to Arabs!” while the people of Gaza city were cheering and firing their guns in excitement. The kids that were wounded were rushed to the hospital.
III. Reaction
A) The AP theme my article relates to is Impact of interaction among and within major societies because both of these groups do not like each other. They are continuing to fight and don’t show any sign of stopping.
B) These two groups of people have been fighting for a long time and constantly retaliate against one another. This person was so outraged at what happened a few months ago that he decided to take it upon himself to make things even.
C) The person who is writing this is a Palestinian male, which would most likely make him and insider.
D) We might want to approach this article with caution because it was written by an Israeli and therefore he might be more favoring of the Israeli side and ridicule the Palestinian who committed this crime.
E) I would like to hear from a relative of the Palestinian to get a full understanding of what his motive was to kill these innocent students. The Palestinian might have shared his thoughts and plans with the people closest to him.
F) To fully understand the situation I would like to have more information as to why the Palestinian did what he did. But by reading this article I would have to say I am in favor of the victims that were brutally gunned down by this murderer and I think it was wrong and completely unfair.
