2. Summary
This is the 5th anniversary of the war in Iraq. In one of President Bush's speeches, he was implying that this war may last for many more years, and that he supports it. According to Bush, removing Saddam Hussein from power was the right thing to do, and that America must win this war. Senator John McCain seems to be agreeing with Bush, mentioning radical Islamic extremism. On the other hand, the Democrats, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, are anti-war, and both agree that the troops should be taken out of Iraq. The total number of troops reached a high of 160,000 and it is said that there should be about 140,000 by the summer.

a-This article fits the theme "Impact of interaction among and within major societies" because there is a war in Iraq, so that would be the United States interacting with the middle east in a way.
b-The Iraq war started in 2003, when there was an invasion of Iraq, which was led by the United States. The purpose of this was to disarm Iraq of weapons of mass destruction, removing Saddam Hussein's power, and to free the Iraqi people.
c-Steven Lee Myers is a male, American, New York Times reporter. There were no sources that stated his nationality, political/religious views, etc.
d-I don't think that there is any possible bias in this article. Since I could not find enough information on the author, it is harder to determine his side of the matter. In the article, he gives quotes of different people in politics, such as Obama, Clinton, and Bush, and he talks about their views on the Iraq War. By doing this he isn't leaning towards any side.
e-There were many voices in the article that the author included, however, I would like to have heard from an American soldier because he/she is actually experiencing this and it would be nice to hear their thoughts on war, and if it is right or not. I would also like to have heard from an Iraqi, because I have only heard from Americans, and it would be interesting to hear if they agreed with Bush or not.
f-I like this article because it showed the opinions of many people besides President Bush, which is pro-war. However, the author could have provided some historical background so the reader could understand more on the causes of the war. Overall it was nicely done.

Hey Yasmin =]
I think i agree more with the democrats in this issue. I think that Bush really should finally take the troops out of Iraq; they have been there for so long already. Hopefully are next president will remove our troops from Iraq.

Hi. I liked your article. I feel that those who support the war really don't understand the conflict between the sunnis and shi'ites. John McCain even confused the mayor sects! I think the people that are anti-war have alot better reasons than those that are pro-war.
