2. Summary -
The article I chose for my blog is titled U.S lacks counterterror plan in Pakistan. The major point of this article is that the Bush administration has failed to to develop a government-wide plan to protect against terrorism in the unruly areas of Pakistan. While they are contributing to the health, education and economic areas of Pakistan, they have no strategic plan against the terrorism. With this ignorance of protection, comes a harmful blow to U.S. homeland secruity. This constant counterterror is causing danger in Afghanistan, Pakistan and the United States in particular. Due to the United States not getting involved in these counterterror plans, they have to rely on the Pakistani army, that is a group of recruited ethinics from the border. The whole reason for the destruction and fear in these regions is due to the lack of a more comprehensive counterterrorism approach. In response the U.S. Embassy has decided to provide $956 million between now and 2011, to insure secruity and infastructure in Pakistan. In the end, the hope is to provide the Pakistani with more medical availabilty and make their armies more equipped so they can continue being the defense system.

3. Reactions-
A. This article relates to the AP world theme impact of interaction among and within major societies. Pakistan, Afghanistan and the United States are all major impactiong socities of the world, and their decisions affect many of the countries that surround them.

B. The historical background of the conflict between Afghanistan, Pakistan and Al Qaeda started mostly with Osama Bin Laden who formed the groups of "warriors" who were to fight against surrounding countries, and then involve the United States in the warfare. He began this in the year 1989, when he first began gathering the terrorists to spread their rage fighting the Soviets in Afghanistan.

C. The point of view of this article is a man, Eric Schmitt, who I believe is american and writing this article based on reports he heard from the U.S. Embassy.

D. I do not believe that there is any indication of bias in this article because this reporter wrote this article based on true facts he heard from the U.S. Embassy, and stuck to those facts without incorporating his own feelings into their opinions.

E. I believe the missing point of view from this article is Pakistani army men, and members of the defense against Al Qaeda because they are the ones who the U.S. lack of participation is affecting the most, and therefore to me, they have one of the more important sets of opinions. I would gain full understanding of this issue if I knew exactly why they were fighting, and how everyone over in these warring countries feel about all this counterterrorism.

F. My opinion on this article is that I would have to agree that it is appaling that there is no plan or strategy for this critical problem, and that the fact that the national secruity is in jeopardy, the white house should be getting it's butt into gear. All these facts should make them want to develop a plan against the counterterrorism, and keep Americans safe. I think that the administration, even if they do discuss this everyday, and are sending money to help aspects such as education, are acting quite stupid. If you continue sending money to help education and economy, and don't do something to help the conflict, there's going to be no one using the new education systems or boost their economy. And then they're going to come to America, and there's going to be another World War, and that's when they'll realize that they made a huge mistake. When everyone is dying, and they're slapping themselves in the face.
