Title: Japan Extends Economic Sanctions Against North Korea
Source: Eagle World News
II. Summary:
Japan has been upset by the actions of North Korea and has therefore put economic sanctions on them. North Korea has been testing nuclear technology and this has upset Japan due to the fact that North Korea is very close to Japan. Japan is worried by this program because of the launching of a missle over Japan by North Korea in 1998. Japan feels that the sanctions should be removed once North Korea stops working with nuclear technology. By settling this problem, diplomatic affairs could be easier. As well as testing nuclear weapons, North Korea has captured Japanese people to be used for training of their spies. This combined with the nuclear testing has brought Japan to put up the snactions.
III. Reactions
A.) This articles relates to the theme impact of technology, economics, and demography on people and the environment. It relates to this theme because the technology of nuclear weapons in North Korea has made the Japanese people nervous about what North Korea might do with this technology to possibly impact them negatively.
B.) North Korea has believed to have been testing nuclear technology since October when they did an underground test that was detected by other countries. Since then Japan, other countries, and even the UN has tried to get North Korea to stop.
C.) The point of view is from an American citizen who is educated and understands the topic even though they are an outsider.
D.) This article should be approached with caution because it is writer by an American, and America is sided with Japan on this issue, so the author may be favoring the Japanese point of view.
E.) I would like to hear from a North Korean leader who would understand exactly what North Korea is doing with their nuclear program and why they are doing it.
F.) I feel that these nations should try and stop North Korea from developing nuclear technology. North Korea may not use these weapons approperiately, and may cause unneccassary war by using them. They can not be completely trusted with the technology due to the fact that they shot a missle by Japan in 1998.

Hey Scott, i think this article is very interesting. North Korea and Japan may now have an extremely bad relationship with each other, because who wants a bunch of nuclear bombs right next door to your country? North Korea better use the missile testing with caution or else Japan might make a stupid decision in response. If North Korea doesnt stop it's reseach once its achieved final missiles, then the relationship between the countries could deteriorate even more, so i'd like to see what happens over there.
