II. Summary
1,082 Iraqi people have been killed in February. These deaths have been caused by health issues, defence and interior ministries. The month of March experienced more bombings, intense fighting between the Shia milita men and many government forces. Violence is making these death numbers increase even more. Since January 08 the number of deaths has risen steadily. Most of these deaths are civilians however Iraqi troops and police had an even higher amount of deaths. It has been said that the level of violence has gone down however when the US troops surged. Many deaths of civilians were caused by crossfire.
III. Reactions
A) This article relates to the AP world theme of the impact of interaction among and within major societies because when the US came into Iraq as another society trying to help the Iraqi people.
B) The historical background to this issue is that the US has been in Iraq for a couple of years and they are doing there best to try to help them however many people in the US feel that having troops there is not doing anything good.
C). The point of view of this article is an outsider because they are not a US citizen but they also are not from Iraq however they do feel that the deaths of Iraq are to high and the US is trying to help that.
D). This authors point of view may impact the article a little bit because in the article the author was always saying the number of deaths repetitively trying to show that its wrong and they may be in favor of the Iraqi people.
E). The point of view that is missing from this article is an Iraqi citizen or soldier on how they feel about the deaths of people and also a US soldier on how they are trying to make this situation better.
F). I feel that the Iraqi number of deaths is to high and that we should try to help them however i think that the US troops have been in Iraq to long and maybe we are just making it worse or even adding to the number of deaths of Iraqi citizens.

I feel that we should help the Iraqi people. I know that we are in Iraq right now but I feel that this may be causing tensions among the society. I feel that us being in Iraq is one of the reasons. I also feel that should try to work out their problems because this has been going on for a long time.

I also agree with you that the US has been in Iraq much too long. There needs to be a fresh strategy to help the Iraqi people because whatever is going on now is not ending Iraqi deaths. There needs to be a fresh tactic so that the Iraqis will be safe, and US troops can come home.

I agree that we have been in Iraq for too long, but I also feel that pulling out is the absolute worst thing that we could do. We do need a new plan, but pulling out would be detrimental in the long-run. By pulling out, it would make the Iraqis feel like they won. They will feel empowered and will eventually attack us. At that point we will be at their mercy and nothing good will come from it.

I agree but I don't know if there's any right solution to the problem. Pulling out the army is going to create an issue but leaving them in Iraq is making things even worse. All the formulating problems are just going to keep forming and the massive amount of issues are going to really force a decision upon the US considering it definitely is partly the US's fault that this disaster is continuing. I feel like the US president might have extended our power a little too far and should have left the Iraqi's alone and withdrawn before the society was completely reliant on the US
