Dalai cliques masterminding of Lhasa violence exposed

I.Citation:. Dalai cliques masterminding of Lhasa violence exposed
China daily.com (Xinhua) http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/china/2008-03/30/content_6576350.htm
II. Summary:.On March 14th, people of Tibet rioted in the streets and killed at least 18 bystanders and a police officer in the process. It was suspected that the Dalai Lama clique was behind all of it, but nothing was confirmed until one anonymous person involved told the details. The Dalai Lama clique claimed that it was a "peaceful protest" that had nothing to do with the Dalai clique. The person admitted that Dalai Lama did arrange these violent acts, and they were instructed to rile up people by handing out fliers.
III.Reaction:. a) I believe that the AP World theme that this article relates to is Impact of interaction among and within major societies, because within Tibet, society members have different views, and display them through acts of violence. These people claim to be only having peaceful demonstrations, but instead they impact the society by killing people's sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers.
b) On March 14th, riots broke out into violence and killed about 20 people. While the Dalai Lama is supposed to be a peaceful leader, sufficient evidence was given to prove that he and his posse were responsible for these deaths. The people involved were smashing things, looting, beating people up, and burning things.
c) The author is an outsider, most likely Chinese, with an unknown gender.
d) The words used to describe the planning of the Lhasa violence were "masterminding" and "plotted," which, to me, give off an evil air. When people usually use the word "plot" they say "he plotted the death of Jen." So, it seems like the author is indicating, subtly, that the Dalai clique isn't very kind-hearted.
e) It would have been nice to hear from a person that was affected by the Lhasa riots, or even another person to describe just what the intent of the Lhasa rioters was.
f) I think that the Lhasa riots are not okay. What the rioters were trying to do might be fine, but the way they went about was all wrong. No one is going to take their side if they kill their friends and family. Plus, no world leader should be planning these sort of things. All in all, this was a cool article.
