II Summary:
A pipe bomb was found attached to a car in Pimlico, Ireland. Suspicions lead to the pipe bomb possibly being tied to INLA (Irish National Liberation Army) terrorist attacks. The bomb itself was disguised inside of a Pringles chips container. Many residents and officials felt this to be a major danger because of its common appearance. Luckily, however, Gardai evacuated the area surrounding the pipe bomb. A controlled explosion took place, proving that the bomb had the potential to maim or kill any surrounding pedestrians. These attacks are becoming more and more common. The Gardai army has been called to Pilimico three times in the past week due to similar instances.
III Reactions:
This article relates to the AP World History theme of, changes in functions and structures of states
and in attitudes toward states and political identities. This is because the INLA is a terrorist group working against the IRA (Irish Republican Army).
The INLA was established on December 8th, 1974. They are a resurgent paramilitary organization
that was originally formed in defense of the OIRA (Official Irish Repblican Arny). The OIRA worked against them in hopes of stopping the INLA before any advanced development took place. The first fatality, as an INLA military operation, was the killing of a leading OIRA member. Since then, the INLA has been linked to crimes of extortion and drug running.
The point of view of this article is an Irish reporter. The reporter is a male as well as an insider.
The article may be somewhat skewed due to the fact that the author was not a witness to the scene.
This could greatly shape the author’s possible use of assumptions rather than factual information.
The point of that was missing throughout the article was that of an INLA member. I would have
liked to hear from a member of this resurgent military because it would help me to better understand their reasoning for their attacks. Also, the voice of the Irish police force or Gardai was missing throughout the article. This voice would have been an excellent source of witnessed attacks and events.
I feel that the idea of a bomb disguised as a Pringles container is terrible. Not only could it
potentially kill anyone, it could have also attracted children. The killing of innocent people and children for this matter is absurd. Also, I find that it is scary to see similar terrorist attacks taking places in all areas around the world.

Normaly in the news when you think of terrosists and bombs you would think of the middle east, not Ireland. Also I wonder how they found out that there was a bomb the pringles container?
