II. Summary;
On Saturday at Easter service, Pope Benedict XVI babtized Italy's
Muslim commentator, Magdi Allam's, converting him to Roman Catholic.
Pope Benedict hopes that this babtizm will bring peace and reconciliation,
they will no longer face as opponents. This was all up to Magdi Allam, he
wanted to be converted. He did make his pilgrimage to Mecca, he said like
all Muslims had to although he was not otherwise observant. He never
practiced or never prayed 5 times a day liek the rest. There is no real punish-
ment for Muslim conversion they say that you will get punished in your afterlife.
III.Reactions
A)
5. Cultural, religous, and intellectual developments.
This event would land on this Theme because its the fact that a Muslim wants to be
converted into Roman Catholic, he wants to develop a new cultural and religon being
a Cathlolic.
B)
The history of this issue is that Magdi Allam never liked being a Muslim. I know this
because he said so himself that he never prayed five times a day like every other
Muslim would. After recieving dealth threat from Hamas it made him realize he has
looked over the value of life and has came up with his decision that he would be converted
into Roman Catholic.
C)
This reporter is an female, Catholic, insider
D)
The point of view could be that this press writer is Roman Catholic and of course she
would not smash talk Christian's thats why it says nothing bad about converting
into Roman Catholic.
E)
I would like to hear more from Muslims that maybe know Magdi Allam like his wife who is Christian. I would like to no what she has to say about her husband converting and why she thinks he fell through with it.
F)
I liked this article because for once it was not about two sides fighting, it was about two sides putting away their differences and uniting as one faith. I never thought i would hear about a Muslim not praying five times a day and wanting to convert into Christianity.
