II. Summary:
There is a security fence making Gaza more secure. This fence has caused many problems for people in that society. This fence has taken years of planning and experimentation. Citizens in the society will monitor the fence by walking along it or watching screens. While one citizen was walking along the fence he was killed by an ambush. It is said that people monitor the screens all day long. But they missed this. They could have alerted people to save this innocent man.

III. Reactions:
  • This article relates to the AP theme Cultural, religious, and intellectual developments. This is because the two societies are having a conflict . The two cultures may begin to fight.
  • This fence has taken years of planning and experimentation. They were always watching the fence. Also, there has been tension between the two societies which could be why they got the fence.
  • Thus article was written by a female insider from Gaza.
  • Since this person is living in the society she would feel bad for the person that died. She is also making her society look good by saying that they always have someone watching the fence. She makes her society look like they have done nothing wrong. The author of this article makes the other society look bad.
  • The point of view that is missing from this article is that from the other side. They may have a good reason of ambushing a man. There may be conflict between the two societies.
  • I feel that it was a good idea to put up the fence. But I feel they should watch the fence more carefully to keep this from happening. I also feel that the two societies should try to work out there problems.

I agree with your view that the fence put up in Gaza needs to be monitored correctly. All of the time, money, and effort put into the fence is wasted when no one monitors it. It seems as though the ambush that occured could have been easily avoided.

I agree with emily because it was a good idea for them to put up this wall. However innocent everyday people just walking are being injured and killed and they didnt even do anything wrong. Its not fair to them and have to worry about being killed everyday. They need to monitor this wall alot more carefully.

I agree. This wall was a good idea, but it won't help solve any problems unless it is monitored the way it is supposed to be. I also agree in that the societies should try and work out their problems in a way that doesn't involve all this fighting.
